It smells like freshly fried tequeños, golden arepas, and homemade seasoning. That's what a little piece of Venezuela feels like, and that's exactly what Chamo Gourmet brings to Costa Rica: an authentic concept that has won the hearts and palates of the Ticos.
In the middle of the pandemic, a Venezuelan couple began selling small "craving boxes" through social media. Each box was flavor and nostalgia, a way to reconnect with their homeland and find their footing in a new one. The response was instant: from boxes they moved to a food cart, from the cart to a storefront, and today they welcome loyal and curious diners every day at their two restaurants.
The star dish? A burger with tequeños instead of buns — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with cheese that stretches with every bite. A place that doesn't just serve food, but also history, hard work, and pride.
